Richard and Sam McBride are excited about contributing to Te Anau's local economy through a development project at the local airfield, made possible with a little help from The Barn Company.

With a vision to contribute to the growth and development of Te Anau's airfield, the McBrides’ company, MGJV Ltd, leased land from the local council to build a helicopter hangar.

Richard McBride says they didn’t have a crystal ball showing how the building was going to be used so it had to be a multipurpose facility. He says The Barn Company were excellent to deal with from day one, understanding the concept and offering a very solutions-based approach to the project.

The McBrides wanted a commercial building that could withstand the high wind zones and extreme temperatures, so cold formed steel was definitely the best option.
