Smith & Davies runs one of the largest vehicle and equipment fleets in the upper North Island. The Bracketless Portal System means no centre posts, creating the ideal industrial building. The Smith & Davies building also provides high ceilings, custom designed interior spaces and entranceways designed to fit any truck.
The new building is exactly what the company was after – simple yet functional, expertly designed and engineered, and the most cost effective option on the market. With an existing fleet of 120 Mercedes Benz trucks, Smith & Davies now has room to grow both its fleet and its company.
BIGGER BUILDS
The Barn Company brings a unique technology to the New Zealand steel construction market, with its cold formed steel Bracketless Portal System.
This exclusive system allows for buildings of virtually any size, without compromising structural integrity. The Barn Company also uses cold formed steel, which simply means the sections are roll formed from flat steel coils, as opposed to being hot forged at the steel mill.
Cold formed sections have been used extensively for a number of years in the construction industry and in most cases are more cost effective than hot formed or wooden products.
The Barn Company also uses a unique patented Braketless Portal System for construction. The system was designed and patented in 2005, following extensive research and experience in the New Zealand and Australian markets.
By combining the benefits of larger structural sections with the Bracketless Portal System technology, The Barn Company is effectively able to build Bigger buildings, Better and Faster than the competition.
